CODA’s 250th RECITAL
Dear Members & Friends,
We are greatly looking forward to our 250th CODA recital on Sunday the 15th of October at 3pm when we shall have a return visit from a CODA Vice-President, pianist Colin Stone, who will delight us with his attractive programme, including Beethoven’s ‘Tempest’ sonata, Op. 31/2 in D minor, the Schubert Wanderer Fantasy, D760 and Kreisleriana, Op. 16 by Robert Schumann.
This will be the last recital in our current financial year which ends on the 31st of October and we hope that all members can be with us.
Our 35th season will start on the 12th November, when our President Nigel Clayton will be with us to accompany a CODA favourite, violinist Gina McCormack and we shall be looking out for a splendid attendance from all members for such a celebratory event – more details soon!
Ella Rundle & Miho Kawashima
On Sunday 10th September, we welcomed Ella Rundle (cello) and Miho Kawashima (piano) to Rose Hill Theatre to play Beethoven’s Sonata Op.5 No.2, Dvorak’s Rondo in G minor and Franck’s Sonata in A major.
The Beethoven and Dvorak were excellent, of course, but it was the Franck in the second half that left the audience stunned — such a wonderful sonata, played with adept intensity by Rundle and Kawashima.
Our next recital is on 15th October and features Colin Stone (piano) playing Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann. Click HERE for more information.
